Fire visit Thursday 24th November 2011

We are listening while Mr Robbie talked to us.

Felicity is climbing in. Noah is looking up. It is Evelyn's first day at school and Taliah is smiling.

Mr Robbie is showing Enya and Bailey the insides of the engine.

Ella is climbing in. Jimmy is looking at the camera and Ryan C and Renata are sitting on the seat.

Tyrese, Jayden and Keara had a great time.

We are all listening to Mr Robbie.

Look at that water go.

Mr Robbie is going to open up the water to show us.

Ruby looks like she could fly away.

Ella said it was very heavy.

Bailey was bent over from the weight.

Look at that lovely smile Renata. What a great time you are having.

Noah is having his turn to try on the special gear that firemen have to wear when they are fighting fires.

We are being good children and using our listening ears.

We got to look around inside the fire station.

Look at all those neat model fire engines the firemen have.

Thank-you to all our wonderful parents and Grandparents who came to help.

We are here and ready to learn.

News week 5

Felicity brought her soft toy Mr Polar Bear. We found out that Mr Polar Bear was made from fluffy material and had glass eyes and a plastic nose. Mr Polar Bear sleeps on Felicity's bed each night to keep her safe.

Mack had a sniff around our classroom. There were so many interesting smells.

Ryan brought his dog Mack to show us for his news. Mack is a lady dog and is one year old. She has grown heaps since they got her. Mack was very gentle with the children and very well behaved.

Renata showed us his watch that he got from his Grandfather.

This is his sonic poster.

This is Renata's favourite page in his book.

Renata had lots of news when it was his turn. He showed us three things. His book, a poster and his watch.

Speech's week 4

Johnny even got on Chloe's shoulder and gave her a kiss.

Chloe's Nana Vera brought in their cockatiel Johnny. They thought Johnny was a boy because he had such dark markings on his cheeks but then last year Johnny laid some eggs.

Guess what? Johnny is a girl! We got to have a pet and some brave children even got a special kiss from Johnny.

Keara's Nana has just been to Fiji and lucky Keara was given some Fijian money and a necklace to show us.

We looked at Keara's necklace and it was made from tiny little shells that looked like snails.

The seal was awesome when we turned it on it rolled all around our floor and it giggled. It made everyone laugh even Mrs Mortensen.

Taliah brought her very special toy seal to school. It is made of fabric and it has a little motor inside to make it do tricks.

Awards 11.11.11.

Ryan M has just started his spelling journey. He has got his spelling correct 4 weeks in a row, Mya- Jayne 8 weeks in a row. Chloe 20 weeks in a row and Tyrese has managed 24 weeks. These clever children all got to choose a present from our present box. Mr Mortensen is very kind and buys lots of cool things for the children to choose from.

Speech's week 3

Jayden brought his "Toy Story" pencil case he got from his Dad when he went for a visit. It had lots of pencils in it and they were made of wood.

Tyrese brought his "Ben 10" beach ball that he got from his Mum and Dad. It is made of plastic and it had a little metal ball inside that made a noise. We wanted to know how they put the ball inside.

Ella got her make-up from her Poppa who lives in Australia.

She keeps her make-up in a locked box so her little brother can't get into it and make a mess.

Ella locks her box with a special little key.

Speeches week 2 term 4.

Enya showed us her three little ponies, her green ball that glows in the dark and her very first novel she has written. I wonder if she will become famous like the author "Joy Cowley?" Did you know that Joy Cowley lived in Foxton? Great effort Enya.

Bailey brought his amazing truck that he got from his Aunty in Wellington. We found out it was made from plastic. Great speech Bailey.

Eve-Ellen brought her special glass ornaments which she had painted. They are for her christmas tree. Her Nana sent them to her from overseas. You are a lucky girl Eve-Ellen.

assembly 4.11.11.

Look at all the "Healthy Heroes" at Foxton Beach School. We had 20 children complete the programme. Mrs Gimblett presented their prizes and certificates.

Hannah and Curtis from Manawatu college talked to us about the importance of reading.

Some of our seniors dressed up as "Healthy Heroes." We had to work out what the words stood for.
