Duffy book awards 14.7

Councillor Hunt presented the New Zealand Post awards to our top readers and writers. The books had been held up in Christchurch due to the earthquake. Jack won the junior school prize. Georgia the middle school prize. Hayden the senior school prize.

Mrs Hunt is a published author of adults books. She talked to us about the three books she has written. It usually takes over a year to research and write each book. She edits her books before she sends them to the publishers. As she isn't an artist she gets someone to design her book covers for her. Each child received one book for government book week.

Awards 14.7

Ella and Keara have got their spelling correct 16 weeks in a row. Felicity has got her very first prize so she has got her spelling correct 4 weeks in a row.

Renata has got his wings. He is now learning his green words.

Red nose day 13.7

We had a mufti day for the Red nose appeal. We had a lot of children away that day as it was very stormy.
