Flooding,wind and snow. 19-23rd September 2010

We have had a week of horrible weather at Foxton Beach. Mrs Mortensen went to pick up her son Stuart from the airport as he and his girlfriend Brena had been in Queenstown for a weeks holiday. Look at all the flood water they went past.

Flower show





































On Tuesday the 14th of september room's 2 and 3 walked down to the local Senior Citizen's hall to take part in the Woman's Institute annual flower show. Each child from our school had produced a piece of art work and had also entered in the flower show. We provided some entertainment to the the audience. The children sang two songs and acted out a poem.

Our letter of the week is the letter b and today we made bumble bees for our wall display.

Room 2 was the first class to go and visit Harold from the life education trust. The mobile classroom arrived on friday. Mrs Mortensen couldn't come with us because the classroom is up steps. Mrs Olsen our teacher's aid took all these wonderful photos.

Today is Eve-Ellen's first day at school. We now have 18 pupils in room 2.

House art 10th September 2010


















































Today after assembly we all got into our houses and did some art for the Woman's Institute flower show. Mrs Mortensen and Mrs Whitley are in charge of Kiwi house. We made flowers on black paper using a sponge technique. We added the leaves with pastels and highlighted with coloured p.v.a. Lastly those of us who wanted added glitter. Our leaders helped to clean up. It was a lovely day so our pictures could dry outside. Here are some pictures of Kiwi house children and what some of the other children did in room 2.
