The letter s 30th August 2010

Codey cooking his sausage.

Tyler and Taine look at those yummy sausages.

Josephinea and Armani eating their sausages.

Edward and Rayden munching away.

Enya and Mya enjoying their sausages.

Shane and Anthony eating their sausages.

Ben and Ashton.

K-Dee and Jazlyn.

Our letter of the week is the letter S. To celebrate this we all cooked our own sausage. We had little tongs so we could turn our sausages. We put the sausages on bread and added our own sauce. They tasted yummy.

Gardening 23.8

As part of our creative morning we worked on our garden patch. It was a beautiful day so we had to do lots of weeding as it had been raining for the last three weeks. Mr Mortensen came up and helped us plant our carrots, lettuce and radishes. We all had a turn and we all helped.

Ripper rugby

The junior school was very lucky and we got to do Ripper Rugby with a player from the Horowhenua ruby union. This was our second time. It was raining again so we had to go to the hall. Our photos are very dark but we had lots of fun.

spring flowers

Here we are painting the backgrounds for our spring flowers. We are going to build our pictures up in layers. We are learning how to mix and wash our colours with water. Aren't we lucky to have such a lovely sunny classroom.

Rayden's news 18.8

Rayden brought his Grandad's dog tags. We found out that he was in the army. Rayden was given the dog tags when he was a baby. They were very light to wear. Mrs Olsen was able to tell us why they have to wear two dog tags. Even Mrs Mortensen learnt something new today. Each soldier has their very own number.

Armani's news Tuesday 17.8

Armani brought her Nana's medal that she won on the cruise ship that she went on. Armani wasn't sure what Nana had won her medal for. We found out that the medal was made of metal and it was heavy to wear around your neck.

Codey fills in. 11th August

It was Armani's turn for news but she was off sick so Codey filled in for her. He had his scooter that he got from his cousins for his birthday so we wrote about that today.

Open day 11th August

Jazlyn's Mum watched Jazlyn write her story about Codey's scooter.
K-Dee's Mum is one of our parent helpers and she comes in twice a week.

K-Dee's dad came at lunch time and played basket ball with her.

Edwards Mum took the morning off work and came and spent the morning with him. Edward is writing his story about Codey's scooter.

Bens Dad watched Ben while he did his handwriting. We were doing the letter e.

Codey's Mum stayed for reading, handwriting and our art activities.

Anthony's mum came to visit at reading time.

Anthony /Alphabet knowledge

Anthony now knows all his letter names and sounds and he can tell us a word for each letter. Here he is by our fish. He is swimming ahead and he is showing you his skipping rope that he got as his reward.

Duffy theatre visit Monday 9.8.2010

The great ping pong game that was so close. We ran out of power on our camera.

The doctors who preformed brain surgery. Poor Hope I wonder if she will ever be the same again?

We are all watching the Duffy production with our friends from the A.B.C. early child care centre. They loved visiting Foxton Beach School and watching the show. Room 2 sat with them and helped look after them.

Shane is outside by the Duffy car.

A.B.C child care comes to visit. 9.8.10

Look at all these wonderful singers.
We are all singing our alphabet song.

Shane is pointing to the words so the children know what to sing.

The little children from A.B.C came in and waited on the mat while we were out playing at playtime.

We have been away

Josephinea made her leaf with Edan from Manawatu College. Edan comes and helps room 2 on Thursday mornings.
Ashton made his leaf with his Mum and she helped him sew it onto our beanstalk.

Tyler 5/8/10

Here is Tyler with his Harold the helicopter. When you push it along the ground it makes a noise and a light flashes in the front. We also found out that the top spins around. Tyler got it for his birthday.

Codey 4/8/2010

Codey got his fantastic skatepark and three skateboards for his birthday. We found out that he got this gift from his Nana and Popa. It was made of plastic and we all enjoyed watching how you could play with it and do tricks.
